Well I suppose you want to know a little about us...
Mike
You wouldn't know he was just 21 years old! Mike has been enjoying fishing for well over 20 years. His passion for fishing found him at the Knox Boat Fishing Club where he was a member for 7 years and of that he was a committee member for 5. Joining the fishing club allowed him to explore new places to fish and meet like minded people.
Following a tree change to 'sunny one day, snow the next' West Gippsland in Victoria, the small farm had a large dam which he extensively stocked with both Rainbow and Brown trout, Australian bass and Silver perch. Soon to follow was a fishing hut, more jetties than you could poke a stick at and a well vegetated bank around the dam to encourage wildlife back to this snug little hideaway.
Mike goes through boats like his socks (much to the dismay of his wife, Marianne), but is complacent with his current 14 footer which allows him to fish freshwater lakes, estuarine rivers and the occasional open bay if weather permits.
Mike also enjoys a beer which helped him to piece together the Crown Seal Lure.
Steve
Steve was introduced to fishing from his old man at a very young age. In fact, he was helping to launch the boat when he could barely walk.
Also a past member of the Knox Boat Fishing Club, he has now set up his own little fishing club to bring together mates, their partners and anyone else who enjoys a bit of fun while wetting a line.
Steve has been writing for the Victoria Fishing Monthly magazine for 2 years and specialises on the West/South Gippsland freshwater scene.
Like his Dad, Steve loves targeting a wide range of species using a range of techniques for both fresh and saltwater fish. He too has a small boat and also loves taking the kayak out for a fish.
Being there to see Mike's creation - the first Crown Seal Lure prototype, he was very eager to trial it out. After 12 months of extensive field work (fishing of course) the 'Cocktail Series' Crown Seal Lure easily matches any other freshwater lure on the market.
Steve remembers his first day trolling the Crown Seal Lure at a local lake. He got 9 trout for the morning which was impressive considering 'Lake Disappointment' gets a bad wrap.
Both Mike and Steve are always playing with new Crown Seal Lure designs. So keep checking up on us, as we will be regularly offering new series along with Crownie Collectors Edition Crown Seal Lures.
